Hello,

I am curious if you have traced the Scheier line into Russia and how far back can you go. Is it possible they came from the Alsace / Lorraine border, maybe even a part of the troops of Napoleon? Then upon reaching Russia staid behind. Just looking into a possibility. Email if you need more information to look up the link.

Yours,
Melonie

I find your Shelton Image Collection quite interesting. I am researching my SHELTON family and all through our family line from at least early 1800 to present day the middle name ELBERT is prevalent. Even my mother (born 1921) was named MILDRED ELBERT SHELTON (so it is not just the male family members with ELBERT, but even some females also).

I am descended from STEPHEN & DARTHA SHELTON who lived in Leon County, Texas when they died ca 1867/1868 timeframe.

I would love to communicate with any SHELTON families (esp where ELBERT middle name is known). I have not yet identified where the ELBERT came from as I have not yet identified who STEPHEN SHELTON's parents were. Recent DNA for our Shelton line is I2B1 Haplogroup.

Thanks,
Lynda Lehmann-French

What an interesting story, Judy! My father attended the Culinary Institute in New Haven in 1958 and 1959. Guess he would have been one of those students in the white chef hats. I've never seen a picture of it before, so this is a real treat. Thanks for reposting it!
